According to the Bible, those who die are forgiven for their sins and will be resurrected during the 1000-year reign of Christ's kingdom on earth. They will be tested as perfected individuals, to choose whether they want to serve God or Satan (Rev 20:1-3, 7-13, Gen 3:15). Those who choose Satan will face the 'second death,' a judgment that separates them from God for eternity.

Despite this grim reality, there is hope. God's judgment is rooted in justice, truth, and courage. He knows our fallen nature and extends His grace through the sacraments, offering salvation to all who turn to Him in faith (JMJ, Infallibly but with Love).

The concept of God's judgment is often portrayed in popular media as a weighing of good and evil deeds. However, this is a misinterpretation. God is looking for absolute, complete, and flawless perfection (Matthew 5:48). No human being has ever lived up to this standard.

This is the bad news. We cannot deny, argue, or excuse ourselves in God's judgment. The news becomes even more daunting when considering that the balance of good and evil, as many believe, does not determine our fate. God requires perfection as the ultimate standard, stating, "No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again" (John 3:3).

Paths to Perfection: Confession and Transformation

However, there is good news. The path to perfection is available to all who seek it. We can erase all our past sins through sincere and humble confession to God (1 John 1:9). This act of repentance is a powerful step towards transformation.

Moreover, it is possible to be completely transformed into perfect beings. The Bible states, "We all who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory which comes from the Lord who is the Spirit" (2 Corinthians 3:18). This transformation involves a total change, driven by the Holy Spirit, leading to the perfection we desire.
