Exploring the Golden Trio: Who Am I More Like, Harry, Ron, or Hermione?

As I reflect on my experiences and traits, I find myself resonating more with the character of Harry Potter from the Harry Potter series. However, I did have significant connections with the other members of the Golden Trio, Hermione and Ron. Let's dive into how I relate to each character and why.

Harry Potter: The Chosen One

Like Harry, my journey wasn't easy. I didn't have any friends at my new school until I was 11. I also lost someone close to me at 18, which caused severe psychological trauma. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) left a lasting impact on me, much like Harry's experiences. His nightmares, anxiety, and sudden outbursts of anger mirrored my own.

Besides the trauma, I share a certain affinity with Harry's brooding nature. I used to brood about random things often and occasionally had outbursts of anger. My sarcastic wit was a go-to method to express negative emotions, often more than I should have. I've also carried a 'savior-complex,' although not to the extreme Harry did. I find myself wanting to help people, even when it wasn't necessary or asked for, driven by a sense of responsibility.

Hermione Granger: The Brainy Merlin

Like Hermione, I was always eager for praise from teachers and was a diligent student throughout my academic journey. However, my interest in history and linguistics set me apart. I majored in history and had a minor in linguistics. If transported into the wizarding world, I would have a spark of interest with Hermione regarding historical linguistics. I also occasionally hypercorrected people in discussions, reflecting my extensive knowledge.

However, my personal relationships did not align closely with Hermione's. Unlike Harry, who eventually took on a role in law enforcement, I felt no strong inclination towards such careers. My association with Hermione in school was more quiet and academic, much like a girl in my physics class who carried an Hermione-ish demeanor.

Ron Weasley: The Emotional Warrior

Unlike Harry and Hermione, Ron resonated with me on a personal level in different ways. I grew up in a nurturing environment, yet felt my parents were overly controlling and 'helicopter' as a form of love. This contrasted with Ron's feeling of being overlooked by his family. I did have a friend in elementary school who looked and acted much like Ron, reflecting a similar emotional sensitivity and insecurities.

While I empathize with Ron's struggles, I find myself less like him in terms of personal challenges. My focus was more on the interactions and environments rather than the financial or sibling aspects. Ron's life path resonated more with my friend's experience rather than anything similar to my own.

Conclusion

Reflecting on these traits, I find myself drawing more parallels with Harry Potter. His journey from an orphaned boy to a frog with a 'savior-complex' resonated strongly with my life experiences. Although I relate to Hermione in terms of intelligence and academic pursuits, and to Ron in terms of emotional sensitivity, it's Harry whose complexity and resilience I find most mirrored in my life.

So, while I may not be 'Chosen' like Harry, nor as studious as Hermione, nor as emotionally sensitive as Ron, I still draw significant strengths from each of them. They each represent different facets of my personality and experiences, shaping who I am today.
